Small grants

We have been providing small grants to help South Australian in need for over 160 years.

In 2018 our grants program was renamed, the Bill Cossey AM Grants Program, to honour the memory of Bill Cossey, a former Board Member of the Adelaide Benevolent Society whose a distinguished career in Government and private enterprise was always combined with contributing to the community.

Our small grants program aims to help South Australians who could benefit from assistance during a tough time in their life. Our grants cover items like rent, utility bills or removalists costs when fleeing domestic violence.

Applications

From 1 July 2021 the Bill Cossey AM Grants Program will be administered by the Wyatt Trust on behalf of the Adelaide Benevolent Society.

All other aspects of the grants program, including funding availability, grant eligibility and type of assistance remain the same.

Financial counsellors and support workers should apply through the Wyatt Trust using their online grant application portal.  The same process is used to apply for Bill Cossey AM and Wyatt Trust grants.

Additional Guidance

If you are specifically applying for a Bill Cossey AM grant, please note this in your application to the Wyatt Trust.  Once received it will be determined whether to process the application as a Bill Cossey AM or Wyatt request, to maximise the benefit to the applicant and the impact of both funds.

If you are unfamiliar with Wyatt Trust’s OLGA portal, if you would like to discuss the suitability of your grant request, or you would like to check availability of Bill Cossey AM grant money, please contact the Wyatt Trust on admin@wyatt.org.au or phone 8224 0074 and speak with a Grants Assessor.

Bill Cossey AM and Wyatt grant applications are accepted from referring agencies on behalf of eligible clients, rather than directly from individuals.
