The Society owns approximately 250 units and houses throughout the Adelaide metropolitan area that it rents to people on lower incomes at rents below market rates. This helps provide South Australians, who would otherwise struggle in the private rental market, with safe and secure long term accommodation.
We are continuing to expand our service through a carefully planned process of development.

The Adelaide Benevolent Society takes referrals for new tenants from individuals and community organisations. We are not a government agency and we do not keep a waiting list. Applications are generally only ratained for a maximum of 12 months.
Potential tenants are assessed on a needs basis and against financial criteria set by the Society.
Some of our properties are available through the NRAS (National Rental Affordability Scheme). This is a long term commitment by the Australian government in partnership with the states and territories to invest in affordable rental living. NRAS was introduced to help low and moderate income households to rent accommodation at an affordable price.
